|I started working out with Emmy about a year and half ago. I had always worked out on my own, but never really saw the results that I had hoped for. I wanted to lose a little weight, but overall just wanted to slim down and tighten up and tone all over. I never thought that I would have a personal trainer, I assumed it was a luxury I couldn’t afford.. I was wrong! The first time I meet with Emmy, I was so nervous. I didn’t want to workout in front of someone and fail, or not be able to meet there expectations. One session was all it took and I was hooked! Emmy is so understanding and empathetic, I couldn’t help but feel comfortable in front of her. We just clicked right away, we had been through some of the same struggles and she never judged me. Emmy is so passionate about helping people, she goes above and beyond I ever expected from a trainer. I workout with Emmy once a week for a half hour; I thought that would be it. She goes over diet and nutrition with me, email and text me to check in with how things are going, if I’m staying on track. And monthly we check my measurements and Body Fat. It didn’t take to long until I started see great results. I was eating better, working out with Emmy and on my own and most importantly feeling better. Felt GOOD for the first time in my life. It is amazing how much I learn from Emmy. I think everyone has their own obstacles and hurdles in life, but I think the important thing is how we choose to deal with them. I chose to jump over them instead of walking around them, I don’t know if I would have that attitude if it weren’t for Emmy – Katie F|
|I started with Emmy last April, and I really needed to cut out bad sugars…so I dodged the pastel M&M’s at Easter. This was a challenge for me, but as I conquered this and learned how to eat and workout the right way, I found myself in my 19 year old sisters clothes. I lost weight and gained strength and confidence. Now I am chasing my young kids around, not the other way around. Training with Emmy was the best thing I did for myself and my family. – Lori C|
|Emmy brings years of personal experience to the table and was so helpful with all aspects of my training. She has a great understanding of nutrition and how what we eat affects our bodies. As a woman she also understands hormonal changes and how to work thru them. Her years training brings a wealth of knowledge to each workout and keeps it interesting by always changing it up. Most of all she truly cares about each of her clients and the success and goals they have. She is committed to supporting in whatever way necessary to make it happen. I would refer Emmy to anyone in a heartbeat, she is fabulous! – Joy R|
|I have been working out since I was 16 and never really been satisfied with my weight. I thought lots of cardio and starving myself would help. I bought many items listed “low-
|6 months before I started training with Emmy I got Crohn’s Disease; I dropped 40 lbs without trying. To some this may sound great..but I did not have 40 lbs to lose and not knowing why was scary. After finding out the Dr. had me on 21 pills a day..yes, 21 EVERYDAY. I meet with Emmy, we went through a bunch of questions; then she started me on a nutrition plan lifestyle and put me in check big time as I needed to clean up my act in the kitchen. We also started to strength train and as I felt so weak from the loss of all that weight, Emmy had confidence and passed on the can do attitude to me. Emmy taught me a way to maintain my weight and stick to a healthy lifestyle. I feel much stronger both inside and out, plus the big bonus was that I was down to only 2 pills a day instead of 21. I have never had so much energy and felt so good about myself both inside and out. Thank you Emmy!!!|
|I call it the “EMMY FACTOR” I have tried everything around to loss weight. I had another trainer for 1 full year before I hired Emmy as my trainer. And in the first 4 small months I dropped 25 lbs. Emmy did not just throw weights at me, she took the time to teach me the importance of what you put in your body. She even let me call her anytime when I had a sweet craving. We worked through all things together. I have never felt better in my life. I have been training with Emmy for 3 1/2 years now, and we continue to challenge my body. Through Emmy I have found motivation and commitment to maintaining my health that I did not have before. – Ginny|
|I started training with Emmy one year ago after I saw pictures from my sisters wedding of myself. I had been currently working out everyday, sometimes twice a day and with all that work felt like I should be in great shape. However, after viewing those photos I noticed that I was lacking muscle definition and tone. I scheduled a consultation with Emmy were she informed me that my “overall healthy lifestyle” was missing two key components; protein and weight training. I am happy to say that in one year of working with Emmy, my expectations having been greatly exceeded. I have lost inches all over, on top of achieving my goal of gaining muscle definition that I wanted. My arms, Shoulders, abs and legs have been transformed. I cant imagine what the results Ill get after working with Emmy another year…Cant wait to find out!! – Laura S.|
|I hired Emmy in the beginning of the year for personal training to help me change up my routine, learn different ways to train, and have someone hold me accountable. Emmy was was supportive as far as the physical training went and even more in regards to nutrition and diet. I emailed her everyday my daily food intake so that we could help me make more appropriate choices. Over-all my training experience was a great success. I lost inches, firmed up and learned life long nutrition choices and training techniques. Emmy will train you to the point of exhausted and then ask for just a couple more; with her sweet but motivating style. Yeah! – Anne W.|
|I first met Emmy through work. We quickly became friends after learning we both had similar goals and hobbies, one of them being working out. She has always been someone I look up to. If I wasn’t for Emmy I would never have had the opportunities and experiences she has lead me to. Emmy trained me for two NPC bikini class competitions. I placed 1st and 2nd in both competitions. Emmy made up a program for me to follow along with training with her twice a week. I was not only training super hard for these competitions but I was also following a strict diet. Any time I felt weak or tempted to eat something not on the diet, Emmy was right there helping me through it. There was no way I could fail with Emmy as my trainer and friend. I could call, text, email any time of day and get a response right away. After every training session I left feeling on top of the world. Emmy is so fun, energetic, and passionate about what she does it made the time fly by. There were times when people at work would ask me questions on why I was doing things certain ways. At the time I didn’t know, I trusted Emmy so I didn’t even think to question her. I knew that Emmy had the same goal for me that I had. My ending results are just more proof that Emmy knows what she is doing. I couldn’t have been as successful without Emmy. Her support and motivation are what kept me going and will keep me going in the future! – Molly G.|
|Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you how much I DO NOT like working out. I will do anything to get out of it and trust me I have. When I envisioned the results of weight training, I pictured a bulky, muscular body which was not what I wanted. I had no idea how to use weights or what it would do to/for my body. Although Emmy and I went to high school together; we did not know each other well back then. Years later came across her when she trained a relative for her wedding. Hopeful for a new strategy to get fit, I reached out to her. I mean who wants to run into someone from high school and be over weight? Its embarrassing. I will not lie, the first day I went for my consultation I was so intimidated, I almost ran out of the gym! But Emmy made me feel completely comfortable, explained to me what she does, why she does it and her passion for fitness and how I would benefit. I did not feel pressure, but I did feel motivated. The changes I experienced in just the first 6 weeks are amazing; I’m getting stronger, leaner, and more confident. Previously a bit clumsy, now I can actually walk the floor lunging without tipping over. Weight training is totally different than running endlessly on a tread or climbing a stair climber and the results come quicker with an emphasis on toning. Emmy keeps me moving my entire session so I’m getting the most out of my workouts. Its not easy, its a commitment, but it feels SO good to leave the gym totally sweating, hardly able to move and know that I just had an amazing workout. Whether you get bored easily, have a hard time staying focused, or lack motivation weight training is great. I’m proof of this. I keep getting stronger and leaner with every week! – Sheree M.|
|I met a Emmy a few years ago through a mutual friend. A few months ago this same friend told me that she started training with Emmy. And since she looked fabulous I thought I should meet with Emmy to see what it’s all about.
We met and talked and I had decided that this was the lifestyle change I needed after having knee surgery last summer. I had gotten very lazy over the last year.
I started that next week. The first personal training session killed me and every muscle in my body ached but it reinforced my decision to get in shape and really make it a lifestyle change for me. She also helped me with a nutrition plan to get me started.
After almost 10 weeks I am down 18 lbs with Emmy’s help. I call these weekly sessions my “Emtervention”. She is always available to keep me motivated and to encourage me to keep going. I am very excited to see what the future holds for me and I feel better every day – Cheryl C.
|I started working with Emmy in September 2010; this has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made. I am a 26-year-old wife and mother of four amazing children, full-time student at the University of Minnesota, and work two part-time jobs. My weight has fluctuated significantly since I became a mother and I struggled to feel comfortable and confident, regardless of the support and love from my husband. Although I had lost a lot of weight on my own, something was missing. I may not have been eating a lot of “junk” food, but I certainly was not eating enough of the right food, in the right portions, at the right times. Regular exercise was not a part of my schedule; I did not have the drive to push myself hard enough and I could never justify working out as a priority over family or homework. Emmy has changed all of this for me. Even in the short time I have been training with Emmy, the results have been dramatic both physically and emotionally. I have lost inches and body fat while adding muscle mass, carry myself more confidently, and feel amazingly more energetic. My eating habits have changed significantly and I no longer feel like I am wasting precious time by working out. I am making healthier decisions and taking a small amount of time every day to feel great, something we all deserve. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have been introduced to Emmy. I love the challenge she presents and feel so accomplished after every session with her. Emmy’s passion is obvious, she finds her own success in the success of her clients and I feel so blessed to be one of them. Thanks Emmy! – Lauren B.|
|I am doing a testimonial on myself …..This is a picture of me a week before my daughter arrived!!!! HOLY BIG MAMMA! I accomplished gaining 55 pounds; guess what?! She only weighed 7.7 when she born but, perfect and healthy! (it wasn’t necessary to gain 55 pounds, some of this came with some major stresses going on in my life) anyhow… I have lost all of the weight in 7 months (slowly, but safely) by eating balanced and healthy, finding the right combo; eating enough calories also to keep milk production. I nursed my daughter until she was 8 months. It is a hard combo to find; low enough to lose weight but enough to also support my daughter’s nutritional needs. Also, getting to the gym was challenging. First off, I could not workout until she was 6 weeks old (C-section). Then, once I could go, finding time to get to the gym for a quick lift and some cardio was a struggle. Again, balance! I had my mind set that I was not welcoming any of this pregnancy weight to hang around. You don’t have to either. You find ways to make it work into your lifestyle.
If you are looking to find “your body” after baby, contact me. I have recent experience and would love to help you be a fit, healthy and happy momma – Emmy S.
|I knew I was in trouble when I agreed to climb Devil’s Tower with my husband and two of our best friends. First, I’m not much of a climber. Second, I had never tried climbing outdoors. Third, that rock is TALL! I knew the only thing that was going to get me to the top was determination (which I have) and muscle (which I did not have). That’s when I started working with Emmy. We had two months to develop the strength to haul my butt up the Tower. I think Emmy was almost as nervous about that short timeframe as I was.
The first workout almost killed me. Legs are Emmy’s specialty after all. But with two sessions a week and diligent adherence to Emmy’s nutrition advice, I very quickly saw significant changes in my body. And it was enough. Climbing Devil’s Tower was certainly the most grueling physical challenge I’ve ever undertaken, but the feeling upon reaching the top is indescribable. I was already there with my husband and friends, so you know who I called from the summit? Emmy! – Karen
|Fitness has been a big part of my life for many years; however, after having my first baby, it took me nine months to get myself back in the gym. After having my second baby girl in July of 2010, I knew I wanted to start working out and eating right sooner, but I was unsure of how to go about doing this while still maintaining my milk supply for nursing.
A few hours after getting the doctor’s permission to start working out after my cesarean, I met with Emmy. She designed a meal and workout plan for me that not only allowed me to start reshaping my body, but also helped me maintain my milk supply. Throughout the time I trained with her, she was always so positive and reassuring. I felt comforted knowing she had gone through the exact same thing as me and was sharing her wisdom with me. I have a tendency to take things to the extreme when it comes to eating and working out. Emmy taught me a lot about balance. I would recommend Emmy to any women looking to get her pre-baby body back! – Meagan
|Emmy is my personal trainer. I have seen results that I am very pleased with. I not only feel stronger and more toned, but also so amazing on the inside. Emmy helped me with something that I did not even expect. She talked to me about my confidence, she noticed that I did not stand tall and did not make eye contact. We worked on my confidence too and now I stand tall and proud!!!
She changed my diet 180 degrees and I got rid of a lot of unhealthy eating habits. I think sometimes as moms, we tend to put ourselves last. I decided to make a change. Emmy was right there to point me in the right direction, keep me on track, and support me when I felt weak.
I truly look forward to my workouts and I leave every one of them feeling amazing. I thought I was just signing up to work out with Emmy once a week, but it was so much more than that! Emmy was available for me to call/text/email all week long with questions or concerns. This lifestyle change was a big challenge for me and Emmy supported me 100%. I feel so much better about myself and I have her to thank for that! – Mandy
